Leila joined the Brighton Veterinary family in 2018 and returned in 2023 after having twin daughters and spending some time in New Zealand.
Leila graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2013 and initially worked in large and small animal practice in rural New Zealand. After travelling through Europe, she returned home to Adelaide and has worked in companion animal practice since.
Through her career, Leila has developed an interest in small animal medicine and a particular passion for animal rehabilitation. Dr Leila is one of the few certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapists (CRI) in Adelaide. This internationally recognised course is a 2-year specialised program covering all canine rehabilitation aspects. With a deep understanding of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, Dr Leila combines physical therapy principles with veterinary medicine to support dogs recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic pain. Her approach is hands-on and tailored to each individual patient, incorporating techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises and mobility planning to help pets regain strength, comfort, and confidence.
Dr Leila is passionate about improving the quality of life for animals and takes pride in working closely with owners to achieve meaningful outcomes. Whether helping a senior dog move more freely or guiding a post-op patient through recovery, she brings clinical expertise and genuine care to every case.
When not at work, Leila enjoys spending time with family and being outdoors in nature.
