Dr. Tomm Weisbrodt has been a dedicated Brighton Veterinary Hospital team member for five years. After graduating with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Adelaide in 2019, Dr. Weisbrodt quickly developed an interest in soft tissue surgery, particularly enjoying the challenges of complex and reconstructive procedures. His skill and attention to detail have made him highly regarded for successfully handling complex surgeries. Notable milestones in his career include performing a free skin graft on a cat’s distal forelimb, a cholecystectomy, and a sublingual sialadenectomy.
Dr. Weisbrodt is also expanding his expertise into orthopaedic surgery, particularly the TPLO procedure, gaining increasing confidence and experience through continual professional development. He completed a 2-year CPD course through Improve International, focusing on soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries, which he completed in 2023.
Known for his approachable nature, Dr. Tomm is skilled at explaining and teaching difficult concepts to pet owners and colleagues, making procedures more understandable. His compassionate and patient-focused approach ensures he delivers the highest level of care to his patients and their families, making him a valued member of the clinic.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Tomm enjoys the outdoors and is an avid cook with a special interest in homebrew. These hobbies reflect his creative, hands-on approach to his professional and personal life. When not at work, his energetic two-year-old son keeps him busy, and he enjoys spending time with his wife.
